Orienteering Team Building
Orienteering is one of the hottest activities of the new millennium! Popular in Canada for the past few years, this exciting and mentally stimulating team building activity is catching on quickly with American groups. The group is divided into teams of 5-10 people with each participant receiving a color-coded bandana to help distinguish the teams. En route to the activity, each team member is assigned to a "skill station" such as map reading, compass use/desert navigation, desert flora, area mountains/landmarks, and concept/point system. Professional guides will then "train" attendees in their skill. When teams reconvene they receive maps, compasses, clue sheets, Polaroid cameras, and their own guide/facilitator. After being led into the desert blindfolded, the teams must navigate between stations utilizing the different skills each member has learned. At each station the teams must solve a riddle and take an appropriate and creative picture of themselves to earn points. Scores are calculated and prizes given out on the return trip (or at a later time in the program if you prefer). Group competitions, tournaments and prizes may be arranged. This program is a fun and entertaining way to promote group decision-making, efficiency, and teamwork for the ultimate survivor challenge!

River games on both land and water will be included in this half-day adventure to create a unique team-building event.
River Float Team Building
River games include a selection of the following:
Slalom Gates
Groups of 12 persons accompanied by guides attempt to negotiate 18' rafts through a series of downstream and upstream river gates. The maneuvers become increasingly difficult as the course proceeds.
Push of War
Opposing teams' rafts are connected together and start the push-of-war in the center of the river. The first team to push their opponents' raft to the shore wins.
Sprint
Simply a rafting sprint from one side of the river to the other and back.
River Rescue-Throw Bag Toss
This event simulates a river rescue technique employing a "throw bag." The goal is to land the bag within a floating hula hoop, which signifies a successful rescue. As in horseshoes, points are awarded for "leaners" as well as "ringers."
Raft Right
Another event, which simulates actual river rescue techniques, this game is for very small groups who don't mind getting wet. The goal is to "right" an upside-down raft (turn it right side-up) from the water.
Raft Relay
Half of the teams' rafts are across the river from the put-in spot. Team members paddle across the river, recover the other rafts, and paddle them back to pick up the rest of their team.
Each raft will carry an expert river guide to ensure safety and smooth sailing. Guides are happy to answer any questions about the surrounding area.
